We encourage all Christians to be a member of and serve in a local church. We invite you to make Glenn Dale Baptist your church home. You may apply for membership at the close of a public worship service by requesting membership in one of the following ways:

1. By public profession of faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord followed by the ordinance of Baptism by immersion.
2. Upon presentation/promise of a Letter of Church Membership from another Baptist Church which adheres to the New Testament doctrine of salvation and baptism as we believe and practice.
3. Upon Statement of Personal Profession of Faith and evidence of Believers Baptism in a church
of similar beliefs and practice

The objectives of the church shall be to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ as instructed in the New Testament; to nurture it's members through a planned program of Christian education; and to provide regular opportunities for public worship.

To provide regular opportunities for Christ-Centered Worship and Prayer;
To proclaim the Good News of salvation through Jesus Christ;
To recognize and honor the Lordship of Jesus Christ through the spiritual use of our resources
and to exercise His will for our lives;
To teach God's Word through regular Bible stud and discipleship; and
To provide an atmosphere of loving fellowship for our congregation and our community.

Snow Policy

If a decision is made to close the church on any given Sunday, a message will be left on the church’s answering machine by 7:30 a.m. During the week, church activities will be cancelled if Prince George’s County Schools are closed for the day, close early, or cancel evening activities. Feel free to call the pastor or deacons if you have any questions

Darwin’s Pantry – CANNED VEGETABLE WEEK

This week is “Canned Vegetables Week.” When shopping for your family, consider picking up extra cans of green beans, corn, peas, mixed vegetables, tomatoes, etc. for Darwin’s Pantry. Darwin’s Pantry is a ministry of our church that provides food for members and non-members.
As long as we have food in the pantry, no one in need of food is ever turned away. We will be collecting food for Darwin’s Pantry in an effort to restock the shelves. Thank you for your help with this ministry

If you would like to receive this newsletter and other information from the church via the internet, please let us know your e-mail address

There is a sheet on the table across from the office where you can sign your name and e-mail address. Please sign even if your e-mail address is already in the church directory.
NOTE: Copies of the newsletter will be available for those who do not have e-mail.

Youth Meals

If you would like to provide a meal for the youth group on a Friday evening, check the sign-up sheet on the youth bulletin board. Give Michele a call if you need suggestions for food (301-345-1089).

Lottie Moon Christmas Offering!

The Lottie Moon Christmas Offering is used for foreign missions, and many of the missionaries and their programs that you read about in the “Missionary Moments” (see below) benefit from our offerings given at Christmas time. We will be collecting for this offering from now until the end of January 2010.

Missionary Moments

North American Mission Service Corps coordinators THOMAS and JUNE NOLEN spend a great deal of time traveling to churches and promoting missions in Mississippi. They encourage believers to participate in missions and provide information on the needs in their communities and around the world.!.
They also help participants plan mission trips and ministries to the needy. “One of the most rewarding parts of our job is to link people with a specific ministry need in the state,” says June. Together, working through the Cooperative program (CP), we can join the Nolens in working toward and praying for spiritual renewal and awakening for Mississippi and our nation. Ask God to give all of us a sense of urgency in sharing Jesus with all nations.
